Terms of service

What Sistema Operia is

• Messaging, calling and video-calling apps —SO Chat, SO Chat Familia, SO ChatKids and SO Empresas— with end-to-end encryption.
• The apps are free to download. The Free plan includes one-to-one text messages and voice calls; photos, videos, documents, voice notes, video calls, groups and the other features require a plan.

Your account

• It is created with a name and an @alias; we do not ask for a phone number or an e-mail to use the app.
• Your account's keys live only on your devices. If you lose all your devices without a backup, we cannot recover your account or your messages.
• SO ChatKids accounts are linked and supervised by a responsible adult (mother, father or legal guardian).

Plans and codes

• Plans are bought on this site by bank transfer and activated with a single-use code sent to the e-mail given at purchase.
• Monthly = 30 days; yearly = 365 days for the price of 10 months. The term starts when the code is redeemed, which can be done within 90 days.
• An unpaid order expires after 5 days. We confirm payments by hand during business hours.
• When the plan ends, the account goes back to Free; nothing is deleted from your devices.

Acceptable use

• Using the service for illegal activities, harassment, child exploitation, spam or malware is forbidden.
• We may suspend reported accounts when there are reasonable grounds. Because of end-to-end encryption we cannot read messages: we act on reports and minimal metadata.

Privacy

• We do not sell data, there are no ads and the server does not keep your conversations. Details on the Privacy page.
